Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To in 2013

Today is the last week of one of my most favourite weeks in the book blogging community- the Top Ten lists of 2012! This year's Top Ten of 2012 is hosted by Lisa from A Life Bound By BooksJessica from Confessions of a BookaholicJaime from Two Chicks on BooksMindy from Magical Urban Fantasy Reads, and Rachel from Fiktshun!

*In no particular order. Because... Seriously I don't know which I want more than the others*

(Images property of owners)
1) "Isla and the Happily Ever After" by Stephanie Perkins: I love Stephanie Perkins, like, LOVE LOVE. I think that it's safe to say that I have a girl crush on her. Why? BECAUSE SHE CREATED BOTH CRICKET AND ETIENNE! So admittedly I have little idea what this book is about (and there is still no cover), but Ashley and I have BIG ideas (basically the above image- plus robots and each of the previous characters putting all of their various talents to use).

2) "The Indigo Spell" by Richelle Mead: With an ending like that of "The Golden Lily" I NEED this book (Ummmm.... Have you read the second chapter of this yet? NO! DO IT! You can find it HERE).

3) "Unravel Me" by Tahereh Mafi: I have no words for this book. Basically "Shatter Me" is one of my most favourite books of all time and I need this book. STAT. Especially with the knowledge that Warner plays an even larger role in it (I don't know about y'all but I am oddly drawn to Warner).

4) "Detergent" by Veronica Roth: With "Insurgent's" ending, which rivals that of one of M. Night Shyamalan's films, this is another book that I NEED- I NEED to better understand how and why the Chicago of this world came to be how it is. Also, I need a Four fix.

5) "Clockwork Princess" by Cassie Clare: With Cassie being my favourite author of all time there is no question why this is one of my most highly anticipated books of 2013. Jem or Will? JEM OR WILL? Or *gasp* neither?

6) "Dead Silence" by Kimberly Derting: Gawd. Now when I look over these books I realize that SO MANY of my favourite book series are drawing to a close. While I'm excited for this installment of Jay and Vi I'm also sad because it means no more Jay and Vi.

7) "The Rising" by Kelley Armstrong: While I do like Maya, Rafe, and the gang, I am most excited for this book because Chloe and Derek will be making an appearance in it!

8) "With All My Soul" by Rachel Vincent: This ending to this series has been a long time coming- I can remember way back when when I ran out on the release date of the first to purchase it! Like with my Four Fix I need a Tod fix!

9) "The Elite" by Kiera Cass: I loved "The Selection" I thought that it was so lighthearted and fun, but I'm looking forward to this book where I hope that all of the palace's secrets are revealed.

10) "Scarlet" by Marissa Meyer: Admittedly I have had an ARC of this book sitting on my shelves untouched for the past couple of months. Why? Because I am waiting til closer to its release date to read it! I can't wait until I can finally dig in and meet both Scarlet and Wolf!

Book Review: The Dream Thieves

Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after... The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater was very high on my holiday wishlist, and I was thrilled when I unwrapped it. I loved The Raven Boys so I was excited to delve back into this world. As with all of Maggie's books, the story takes time to unfold. Her books are rather slow reads for me, as they're so interesting and beautifully written that I read slow and savor each word. When the writing is this good, there's no need to rush through it. The Dream Thieves picks up where The Raven Boys left off, the search for a sleeping Welsh king, Glendower. Each of the characters have an important role to play in fin...

Author Interview: Sarah Dessen

I was so honored when I was asked to interview Sarah Dessen at her recent event in DC. I’ve met her before, and she is such a sweetheart, so I was very excited to get this one-on-one time. Sarah’s answers are paraphrased, not direct quotes unless it’s within quotes. Aine: What was the inspiration for your latest novel, The Moon and More ? Sarah: I was at my favorite spot in North Carolina, Emerald Isle. I had finished What Happened to Goodbye and had no idea what to write next. A hot shirtless guy, who was rather chatty, spoke with me. He was from Emerald Isle and told me all about growing up there. A lot of my books are set in Colby, which is based on Emerald Isle, but I had never written about anyone from there. After speaking with him, I thought “There’s my book.” Aine: If I recall correctly, it was announced under a different title. Why the name change? Sarah: The Moon and More was my original title. But we were worried that people would think that with the word “moon” in the...
